I visited Red Rooster for dinner for the first time last week and as a bonus got to try one of Deborah Racicot’s fantastic desserts–a lemon bread pudding with a really “lemony” curd (or gel) on the side. Racicot spent 10 years as the Executive Pastry Chef at Gotham Bar and Grill before coming to Red Rooster this spring. She is recognized as one of New York City’s top pastry chefs.
According to Marcus Samuelson’s blog–Red Rooster’s “Nook” will be opening September 14th. Not much information about the Nook is available yet but it will involve a take-away window with baked goods, desserts developed by Racicot, as well as sandwiches and fresh juices. It also sounds like it will have some very special sweet creations such as Ms. Racicot’s take on the Skor bar.
Stay tuned for more information.
Red Rooster is loctaed at 310 Lennox Ave (at 125th Street). Their website is here.
