OMG Cupcakes, a new, organic cupcake delivery outfit offers traditional, gluten free and vegan recipes to New York City and Rockland County.
In the vegan category, the “mounds” cupcake was by far the most delicious. In fact, I liked it best out of all the cupcakes I tried including the non-vegan. The “ounds” features very moist coconut cake, gooey coconut topping that’s not too sweet and a chocolate ganache filling. I should note that both the coconut topping and the chocolate ganache were very smooth and creamy. I have had vegan cupcakes where the frosting was chalky. Thankfully, that was not the case here.
Of the traditional cupcakes my favorite was the vanilla bean which was also very moist and generally excellent. The brownie cupcake was kind of interesting. Imagine the love child of a regular cupcake and a fudge brownie. If that’s too difficult for you, just imagine a good brownie in the shape of a cupcake.
In general I was really pleased at how good these cupcakes were. The only flavor I would avoid is the vegan maple cinnamon. it was very dry. Perhaps it was from an older batch?
There are other cupcakes that you can have delivered in New York but none of them, to my knowledge, offer vegan and wheat-free options. One of the best traditional options is Kumquat Cupcakery.

Niko! I am catching up and man, what deliciousness is going on here! It’s always nice to discover a new cupcake business. I think that when vegan cupcakes taste good, I appreciate them even more–they’re working without a lot of the classic ingredients, so I admire their ability to make a delicious product!
